Striving to Improve

In all aspects of my life I am pushed toward improvement as an individual. In my personal life, this desire to be better than the person I was the day before has pushed me to take up running as my sport of choice, and at every level from middle school track practices to collegiate cross country championships, I have tried to be a better athlete, teammate, and leader on my team. I have also pushed myself out of my comfort zone in other areas, with rewarding experiences as a result; whether that result was becoming a better skier, photographer, pursuing a career in the business world by obtaining my degree in Operations Management.

In my professional life my goal of self improvement has resulted in my taking on more responsibility at every job site I was on in my first job in the construction industry, taking on additional time commitments to as a student ambassador for the Management Department at Oregon Tech, and reaching out to organizations such as Cascade Health Alliance (which helped facilitate my completion of a DMAIC Six Sigma senior project which qualified me for a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt) or South Tahoe High School (where I was able to be a volunteer assistant cross country coach which has helped me toward my coaching minor). With these experiences in mind, I am looking forward to the next opportunity to improve in my personal and professional life.
